Why Harry style In A Dress So Controversial ?

Harry Styles’ is one of music’s most popular musicians. He’s hot off a critically acclaimed album in “Fine Line”, with songs like Watermelon Sugar, Golden, and Adore You topping the charts.

He’s from one of the biggest boy bands of all time, One Direction, and has blazed a trail for his solo career to flourish. And he’s also become quite a popular ambassador among many fashion brands, the largest one being Gucci, for who he and Alessandro Michele have worked extensively together. And Harry’s rise to fame only continued when American Vogue published their December 2020 cover, where Harry donned a lacey blue Gucci Gown, which sent the whole world into a tailspin. If it wasn’t Harry’s fans that were going crazy over the cover, it was conservative commentators like Candace Owens and Ben Shapiro, having a go at Harry over the fact that he was not conforming to the idea of masculinity within the rigid constructs created by Western society.

Why Harry style In A Dress ?

The quote “Bring Back Manly Men” donned all sorts of responses and even got an Instagram caption mention by Harry himself. But the notion that Western Society should conform to these really rigid notions of what men and women should wear is stupid, as all over the world, that idea of what is men’s and women’s clothing has changed over time. From Ancient China, to the First Nation’s of the Americas, to European high heels worn by Kings and Queens alike, and so much more, we must work to ungender or degender clothing, and colors while we’re at it, because it’s a dumb and old practice that really helps no one. So come along as we break down Harry’s Vogue cover and if you’re a channel member you can see us break down all the other Harry looks that showed up throughout the shoot! by clicking the link below πŸ™‚

Hautelemode : Fashion Critic Reacts to Tik Tok Front Row Fashion Challenge (Part 2)

You all enjoyed me reacting to these Tik Tok Front Row videos that were super fun! I didn’t really expect a response like we got, but here is a part 2 that I filmed because there were so many good videos that I couldn’t ignore! There were so many lovely smaller fashion brands involved in this video as well like Anna Sui, Rodarte, & Alyx just to name a few, which definitely spiced it up!

Fashion Critics Reviews Spring 2021 Haute Couture (Dior, Iris Van Herpen, & Schiaparelli)

The second Haute Couture season during the Covid-19 pandemic is here and we have a lot to discuss! This is only the 1st of a 3 part series this week, so stay tuned! We first discuss Daniel Roseberry’s Schiaparelli and his take on trying to redefine Couture. From references to Elsa Schiaparelli herself & Yves Saint Laurent, there was a lot to discuss! Iris Van Herpen returned to present a full collection after a semi-season off. Her “Roots of Rebirth” collection focused on fungi as the inspiration but reinforced classics in a smart yet reassuring way. And of course, Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Dior, which took on Christian Dior’s love of tarot cards. The Visconti-Sforza deck from the 15th century was this season’s inspiration, which allowed Maria Grazia to dig into her Italian roots, and well I don’t mind it too much.

We Need To Talk About Kamala Harris' Vogue Covers

We Need To Talk About Kamala Harris’ Vogue Covers

Kamala Harris has become many firsts for the United States. First Female Vice President, first Black Vice President, first South-Asian Vice President, and now first Vice President to appear on the cover or covers of American Vogue. The covers have become quite controversial though, as it’s been reported Anna Wintour & Vogue changed the intended cover the Harris’ team expected. Twitter, Instagram, the Washington Post were alight with comments and opinions on the cover. I want to break down the covers, the designers involved, the history of FLOTUS on the cover, and how we shouldn’t expect all that much fashion from Kamala just because she’s a woman!
